The term heavy turning refers to machining operations with chip removal depths between 10 and 50 mm and feed rates between 1 and 2.5 mm per revolution. Generally, these are roughing operations on large cylinders for the removal of the melting crust and calibration of the outer shape.

For this machining Diamil offers a series of inserts both standard (such as SNMM250924, LNMR501432) and special (XNMX40).  It also develops special projects for dedicated tooling.
