{"id":1957,"date":"2019-02-13T12:00:43","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T11:00:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.omcd.it\/?p=1957"},"modified":"2019-10-07T10:32:53","modified_gmt":"2019-10-07T08:32:53","slug":"the-metallurgical-laboratory-omcd-is-a-protagonist-at-euro-pm2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.omcd.it\/de\/the-metallurgical-laboratory-omcd-is-a-protagonist-at-euro-pm2019\/","title":{"rendered":"The metallurgical laboratory: OMCD is a protagonist at Euro PM2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We\u2019re pleased to announce that the manager of our Group\u2019s metallurgical laboratory, Dr. Gian Pietro De Gaudenzi, has been invited to participate as part of the <strong>Technical Programme Committee (TPC)<\/strong> at Euro PM2019.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Euro PM2019<\/strong> is the international conference on <strong>Powder Metallurgy (PM)<\/strong> organized by the <strong>EPMA (European Powder Metallurgy Association)<\/strong>. Every year it attracts thousands of industry leaders, academics, and researchers whose work is focused on the PM sector.<\/p>\n<p>This year the Dutch city of <strong>Maastricht<\/strong> will host Euro PM2019 at the Maastricht Exhibition &amp; Conference center, <strong>from October 13-16, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1962\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1962\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1962 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.omcd.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/MECC.jpg\" alt=\"Maastricht Exhibition &amp; Conference center\" width=\"600\" height=\"204\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.omcd.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/MECC.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.omcd.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/MECC-300x102.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1962\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Maastricht Exhibition &amp; Conference center<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During the three-day event, a variety of <strong>experts in the field<\/strong> will offer their presentations on key arguments regarding Powder Metallurgy and its recent developments.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the conference, one of the largest international exhibitions on Powder Metallurgy will be held. This event will see the participation of a variety of international representatives from this industry\u2019s sector.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"www.europm2019.com\" href=\"https:\/\/www.europm2019.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">www.europm2019.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Technical Programme Committee (TPC), of which Dr. De Gaudenzi is a member, consists of about fifty Powder Metallurgy experts hailing from all over Europe. They will participate in <strong>round-table discussion groups<\/strong> with 7\/8 people per group, and will have the task of selecting the oral memory contributions to be presented, regarding the following Powder Metallurgy subjects:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Additive Manufacturing<\/li>\n<li>Functional Materials<\/li>\n<li>Hardmetals, Hard Materials, Cermets and Diamond Tooling<\/li>\n<li>Hot Isostatic Pressing<\/li>\n<li>New Materials, Processes and Applications<\/li>\n<li>Metal Injection Moulding<\/li>\n<li>Press &amp; Sinter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dr. De Gaudenzi will participate in the discussion about <strong>hardmetals and diamond tooling<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>A variety of sessions, each dealing with 4\/5 memories divided into subjects related to Powder Metallurgy, will be organized every day.<\/p>\n<p>A senior and junior <strong>chairman<\/strong>, chosen from the TCP members or from external participants who are invited for this reason, have been appointed for each session. Their task is to preside over the technical interventions. This year, Dr. De Gaudenzi has been chosen for this role once again. TPC members are also able to present intervention proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Dr. De Gaudenzi\u2019s memory on the use of abrasion-corrosion measures to study <strong>healing kinetics of hardmetal\u2019s passivizating layers<\/strong> sparked a great deal of interest. The memory presented two years ago, on <strong>hardmetal corrosion behaviour<\/strong>, was equally well-received.<\/p>\n<p>We are proud of this new recognition, and wish Dr. De Gaudenzi all the best.
